Alf Brooks

Alf brooks (aka Boniface) is a sound artist and engineer whose work revolves around the fusing of disparate knowledges for artistic outcomes. He works in a self titled field of audio tapestries, weaving sounds and music with voice and samples. Most recently he has been working in collaborative projects in Theatre, Venue projects and RGP (Role Game Play), finding a space in which to implement his practice as a positive force towards collective productions.

µ ensemble

µ ensemble is a quartet producing quietly ecstatic microtonal drone music. Using a motorised hurdy-gurdy, home-made bagpipes, viola, trumpet and sine-waves, the group produce a wavering cloud of texture and tone designed to melt into the atmosphere and surround the audience like heavy air.* µ ensemble (pronounced ‘mu ensemble’) are Alf Brooks, Aisling Marnane, Germán Gabriel García and Joseph Summers. The letter µ is derived from the Egyptian hieroglyph for water, but is now used as a symbol in many applications.

*µ ensemble will be performing this time as a trio.

Location : Morphine Raum, Köpenicker Straße 147 Hinterhof, 1. Etage, 10997 Berlin, Germany.

Doors open from 7pm, music at 8pm sharp.
